General Care Services
What are the advantages of going through a Home Care agency?
Working with an agency like Family First handles all the details that can feel overwhelming. We manage caregiver screening, background checks, employment paperwork, payroll, and taxes. We are fully bonded and insured. Furthermore, if a caregiver is unexpectedly unavailable, we arrange coverage quickly so there is never an interruption in your loved one's care.
What can Caregivers do—and what can’t they do?
Depending on whether you need Essential Care (Caregivers/CNAs) or Specialized Clinical Care (RNs/LPNs), our teams are trained to handle everything from light housekeeping, meal preparation, and bathing to medication administration and wound care. Our initial Comprehensive Care Assessment will clearly define exactly what services your loved one requires and ensure the appropriately licensed staff is assigned.
Payment & Insurance
How do I pay for long-term care?
We accept various forms of payment including private pay out-of-pocket, Long-Term Care Insurance, and certain specialized state waivers depending on your location. Because navigating insurance can be difficult, our billing specialists are available to review your specific policy and help you understand your coverage options before care begins.
Is Medicare accepted for these services?
Traditional Medicare typically only covers short-term, intermittent skilled nursing care after a hospitalization, rather than ongoing long-term 1:1 home care or essential daily living assistance. However, some Medicare Advantage plans are beginning to offer supplemental in-home support benefits. We recommend contacting us directly so we can assess your specific situation.
